U2

As part of Iggy's birthday present (he will turn 35 on July 5th), I bought tickets for the U2 concert in Miami.. and wow... what a great concert that was!!

Iggy had no idea I was going to take him there and he was so excited... He's a big U2 fan so he was naturally ecstatic about his birthday gift...

It was so great to go on a date and the concert was just amazing!!! They sang all my favorite songs and we had a blast...

We were on the field and had the opportunity to jump up and down with all the crazy crowds... I was so happy to see that Iggy was so satisfied with his birthday gift...

Go U2! You're awesome!

Full party mode

The girls' birthday party is only a couple of weeks away so naturally I'm in full party mode with all the planning, buying and organizing!

I have already mailed out all invites, bought all the supplies, favors, etc.

I have also ordered the cake and such things!

This year's theme will be Tinkerbell and the fairies...Everything is green/purple/pink...

They are so excited and ready to celebrate.. and of course I am too!

We will have the party on Sunday July 17th, which is Olivia's actual birthday so it's an awesome date!

I can't wait!!!

Wordless Monday...

"Cars 2"

"Cars 2" will probably top the box office this weekend and understandably so... it's such a great movie!

This is the sequel to one of Disney's best movies (Cars).. it was 5 years in the making and it was definitely worth the wait!

"Cars 2" has the same fun and savvy characters of the first movie, but the graphics and colors are so much better... The movie is a story about Lightning McQueen (the main character) and his best friend Mater (the tow truck), who travel to Europe to participate in a the first world Grand Prix, sponsored by the creator of an all natural fuel...

The cars find themselves involved in a plot of secret agents, who are investigating the wrong-doings of an evil car, who's planning to destroy the major race cars, who are participating in the race...

It's a story about friendship and the value of feelings.. it is also a story about what really matters in life... being happy!

On the downside, I did think the story was a bit elaborate for young kids.. but the girls still seemed to enjoy it!

I give it 5 out of 5 stars! Go Disney-Pixar!

Diaz sisters' birthday party

Yesterday we attended Isabella and Alessandra's birthday party at The Little Gym in Pembroke Pines...

Alessandra was turning 2 and Isabella was turning 4! It was so much fun!

These two little girls are some of my favorite people and so are their parents Hugo and Rosanna, awesome friends and amazing family!

The girls had a wonderful time and burned off some energy, which is always amazing!

Swim Class!

My little lady started swim class this week and let's just say it has been rather "interesting"...

The first day was great.. she seemed to love the water and apparently she really enjoyed the first lesson.. she left that day wanting to come back for another lesson!

...and then came the second day when the professor asked her to go under the water and swim in the "superman" position... oh my! can we say meltdown?? She started crying hysterically and didn't stop until she actually came out of the pool... it was insane!

The next day she cried again and told me she doesn't want to go back...

Unfortunately for her, the classes are every day and will last at least another month!

I hope it gets better! ;)

Wordless Monday...

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there who do an amazing job with their children...

I have been blessed with an amazing father, who inspires me in every possible way and supports me in everything I do... He has taught me everything I know and is the light of my life.. I love him so much and thank God every day for him!

On top of that.. I have also been blessed with a wonderful husband, who is an even more wonderful father.. He is the perfect example of the best father any kid could ask for.. I love him so much too!

We had a great time today with the dads and the rest of the family.. A Sunday like no other!

Pool day

Well, summer is definitely here! It has been above the 90's all week long so a day at the pool is definitely suiting for this insane heat!

We had an awesome time at the pool today with our friends Roberto, Pechy and Melissa, who invited us over to their house for a poolside BBQ and games...

As usual, the girls had a blast with their friend Melissa and we enjoyed some great time with friends, while eating delicious chicken, meat and cheese! So great!

Father's Day @ school

This is a picture taken today @ Olivia's school during the special breakfast they had in celebration of Father's Day.. Iggy got a handmade key chain and some special drawings by Olivia...

Gaby is 23 months!

This is it! Last month before her 2nd birthday! Gaby will soon be a 2-year old little girl.. when did this happen??...it's so crazy! It feels like just yesterday when I held her for the first time and now she's another little person.. with her own ideas, tastes and likes.. crazy, huh?

Gaby is such a fun little girl.. she's extremely ingenious and entertaining... such a trip!

She talks A LOT and is very coherent and extremely vocal... she gets her way almost every time and I actually let her!

She loves music, singing and dancing and enjoys coloring and playing with her sister...

She also loves to go out and hang out with her grandparents and her cousin....

Gaby is nowhere near ready to potty train... we've tried the "naked thing" a few times, but we always end up with a pee mess either on the floor or the couches...needless to say.. it's not fun at all!

One thing she DID tackle is the pacifier.. After I wrote about her regressing on it, she completely dropped it one day and never even asked for a pacifier again! She is now free of the pacifier "vice"... and she did it pretty much on her own! I'm so proud!

I hope to start training her after her 2nd birthday... We also plan to enroll her in day care once Olivia starts VPK in August.. she seems to enjoy being with other kids and meeting new people.. so that's the plan!

Wordless Monday...

Belly Dance recital

Today I had a great "mommy moment"... I went to see Olivia performing at her first dance recital ever..

She was belly dancing with some of her friends from school at the VPK graduation...

She has been taking lessons for over a year and this is the first time I've seen her in "action"..

She was so happy with her costume and make up and did amazing.. I didn't know she could dance so good.. she really surprised me...

My parents, my niece, Gaby and Iggy were there as well.. we were also so proud... I even cried a little!

Way to go Olivia! A mini Shakira in the making! ;)

Girls night out

Tonight I had my first "girls night out" with some of the moms from Olivia's school and a few others I've met through those moms...

It was 7 of us...we went to Lime Mexican Grill and had a great time talking and eating Mexican food...

It was so great to get out of the house and have some interesting adult interaction...

We were out for almost 3 hours and had an awesome time!

The plan is to do it every Wednesday night.. I hope it happens!

Updates!

I know I blog almost every day, but my life is so hectic that I feel like my stories and anecdotes pile up if I don't post them daily! Oh well.. I guess it's fun to have an active life, right??

On Sunday we took the girls bowling.. this is the 2nd time we take them and it was Gaby's first time actually playing.. She really enjoyed pushing the balls down the little ramp.. it was cute to see her..and of course, Olivia loved it too..

...the next day Olivia got sick and we had to take her to urgent care... She has an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection and a bad cough... She also spiked a fever of 103 and I freaked out...she's feeling better today, but will be on antibiotics for the next 10 days! :(

...today we went to play with Olivia's friend Melissa.. they played dress up and had some snacks.. it was fun...

I've been so busy lately... the summer semester is driving me nuts and my diet makes me edgy at times... thankfully I try to keep busy so I don't feel the stress!

These summer months are always so crazy... first it's Father's Day coming up soon, then Iggy's birthday and of course, the girls' birthdays... ahhh!!!

Diana's visit

Today was a nice day! Wonderful weather and an awesome friend visiting from San Francisco

My friend Diana, who I hadn't seen in over two years, came to visit with her daughter Dessiree...

The visit was short but very fun... the girls had a wonderful time together and I was able to catch up with my friend... love, love, love it! ;)

My diet journal...

For the past few days, I've been working on a new blog, which I have titled "The Journey to a skinnier ME!"...

It's a blog about my personal struggle with weight loss and the journey to a skinnier version of myself...it is raw, personal and very intense...

I had second thoughts on whether to make this a "public" struggle or not.. but, I have made the decision to blog about it and have people who are interested read it...

I appreciate all the support I can get... this is tough for me, and I'm sure it will only get harder before it starts to get easy....

Las Vegas!!!

We got back from Vegas yesterday but I was too exhausted to blog, so this post is a bit delayed...

Our trip was fabulous and super exciting... We visited all the hotels/casinos, did some shopping, ate at wonderful buffets/restaurants and other fun stuff..

We also visited the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and stayed at an amazing hotel called Aria, it had an amazing pool, bars, night clubs and the rooms were super luxurious! We had such a blast and enjoyed our alone time...
